COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, DuPage County officials awarded a total of $711,336 in grants through the Small Agency Grant Program to 32 nonprofits, including a $30,000 award to Carol Stream’s Repeat Boutique—known for offering free shopping every three months to families in need. The funding from American Rescue Plan Act earnings will help these groups expand services in areas such as housing, economic development, and health. Daily Herald
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A new restaurant called The George will open later this year in downtown Naperville at the former Bev’s location on 245 S. Washington St, offering modern American tavern fare and nodding to local history including George Laird. The restaurant, led by co-owners (Will Cullen and Dave Miller), will serve lunch and dinner with classic dishes and feature a 19th-century-inspired design. Naperville News 17
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Naperville 203 Board of Education approved $7 million in improvements at Kennedy Junior High School on June 16th, which will replace outdoor pod classrooms and modernize indoor spaces.
