An Aurora chiropractor (46) was charged with sexually abusing two teen boys in his care after a 17-year-old patient reported abuse on January 11 at his office (3800-block of McCoy Drive) and a similar incident was alleged in 2016, with his next court appearance set for June 2.
Murtaza Hameed of Naperville was charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one count of attempted criminal sexual assault, and one count of misdemeanor battery after two boys in his care alleged abuse, and his next court appearance is set for June 2 — authorities said a similar incident was reported in 2016.
In May, Naperville Municipal Band clarinetist and band manager Cindy Neumann, who has been with the group for 16 years, returned to music after a 20-year break following inspiration from the Memorial Day Parade.
She now performs with the Southwest Community Band and takes private lessons (crediting her parents as her greatest musical mentors).
Familiar icons of spring will appear at Nichols Library on June 4 at 2PM when Naperville and College of DuPage’s McAninch Arts Center (MAC) unveil a new public art installation that celebrates Japanese ukiyo-e art; local artist Richard Lo is commissioned to create this mural as part of a county-wide project featuring 32 murals in 20 locations.
Naperville District 203 officials began reviewing a preliminary budget for the 2025-26 school year during a May 5 board meeting — the plan shows a 6.52% rise in expenses and a 3.29% boost in revenue, mostly from local property taxes.
A public hearing on the budget is set for June 16 and further adjustments will be made as actual figures come in.
