- ➤ Nearly 50 high school students from Naperville School District 203 picked free prom dresses at a recent event organized by nine local moms. The Dress Up 203 program partnered with local boutiques—Peaches donated 87 dresses—and provided an on-site alterations team to help students achieve a perfect fit for prom night. Naperville News 17
- ➤ Turning Pointe Autism Foundation in Naperville will mark Autism Awareness Month in April with events such as a City Council proclamation on April 2, a Kendra Gives Back sale at Downtown Naperville, a celebrity bartending event at Go Brewing on April 10, and fundraisers through local car dealerships, KidSnips haircuts, and restaurant promotions. Local businesses and organizations are backing the effort — 20% of sales and 100% of tips at key events will benefit the foundation — to support educational programs and services for individuals with autism. - ➤ Naperville’s Lucy Westlake, a 21-year-old mountaineer, was honored on March 11 by the DuPage County Board for Women’s History Month after setting records by summiting the highest peaks on five continents—she has also been interning on Capitol Hill and is set to collect ice samples on Mount Rainier and Mount Baker this summer to study glacier melt.
