  • The Naperville YMCA offers volunteer roles for all ages—teaching skills like swimming and safety that build community ties. The Fry Family YMCA will host the Mayor’s Interfaith Community Breakfast on Dec. 5 with tickets at $40 per person—supporting programs that empower local families.  Positively Naperville
  • Naperville is hosting a series of Veterans Day week events that begin today with the Healing Field of Honor open through November 12 at Rotary Hill—displaying American flags and a replica Vietnam Wall of Remembrance—and continue with the Marine Corps Birthday celebration at 9 a.m. on November 10 and a Veterans Day Ceremony at 10:45 a.m. on November 11 at Rotary Hill. A family-friendly American Legion Costume Party with Heroes and the Cheers For Veterans Gala on November 15 in Woodridge will round out the week—proceeds from the gala benefit DuPage County Toys for Tots.  Positively Naperville
  • Naperville food pantries saw a surge in families seeking food as partial SNAP funding led to slower benefits — West Suburban Community Pantry saw a 34% rise and Loaves & Fishes registered 700 new households — Loaves & Fishes will extend hours at its Aurora hub Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to meet growing demand.  Naperville News 17

  • Residents spoke out at the Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Nov. 5 about a proposed data center at the former Nokia site along I-88—raising concerns about property values, health risks, and noise.
