COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Naperville’s fifth Healing Field of Honor will take over Rotary Hill from Nov. 7 to 12 to honor veterans with American flags and a replica of the Vietnam Wall of Remembrance; it includes an opening ceremony on Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. and a Veterans Day service on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.  Naperville News 17

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Veteran Business Project is hosting its Second Annual Valor to Venture fundraiser at the Pavilion at Meson Sabika on November 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., where a silent auction, speeches, and food and drinks are included with a $50 ticket price—this event supports veterans and military spouses in starting small businesses. The nonprofit, recently named the 2025 Veteran Nonprofit of the Year and having moved its headquarters to CityGate Centre, will see its local eatery Rosie’s Home Cookin’ relocate in early December.  Positively Naperville

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Indian Prairie School District 204 has proposed course updates for U.S. History that will use a thematic approach—focusing on The Promise of America, American Capitalism, American Global Leadership, and America’s Identity—to help students connect lessons with current life, and the district also plans to update French 3 with a new textbook and digital resources. Officials will ask the school board for approval on November 17—while the proposals remain open for public comment.  Naperville News 17
  • Naperville School District 203 officials discussed a proposed 20% fee increase for 2026 summer school at a Nov. 3 board meeting — board members raised concerns that higher fees could reduce enrollment in non-core courses. The revised proposal will be reviewed at the next board meeting on Nov. 17.  Naperville News 17
