- ➤ The City of Naperville and the Park District ask residents to share feedback on the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, located west of the Jaycees Playground and south of the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, through an online questionnaire open until Oct. 9. The 3200 square feet pavilion, built in 1987 to seat 270 people at movable picnic tables, may see improvements guided by survey results—addressing issues like limited parking and drainage. - ➤ Piccolo Buco opened its second location at 456 Route 59 in Naperville yesterday; the restaurant is a collaboration with Cooper's Hawk and also operates a site (Oak Brook) that offers modern Neapolitan pizzas and a curated wine selection. ABC7 Chicago
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 23, County Board Chair Deborah Conroy presented the DuPage County fiscal year 2026 budget worth $644.7 million that raises the general fund by 2.31% + allocates $18.1 million for food aid and affordable housing along with funds for public safety, stormwater, and transportation improvements. The board will review the proposal until Nov. 25 before it takes effect on Dec. 1. Naperville News 17
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A DuPage County resident in their 80s became ill in August and later died from West Nile virus, marking the county's first human death linked to the virus this year. The Health Department recorded 11 cases so far and urges residents to protect themselves against mosquito bites by following the three R’s—reduce, repel, and report stagnant water. Naperville News 17
