ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Naperville Park District announced that prescribed burns will be held in twelve local parks in the coming weeks to clear invasive weeds and plant debris (burns will only proceed if weather conditions allow). Naperville News 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews from the Naperville Park District decided to replace the aqua blue fountain basins along the Riverwalk with black liners for safety and design reasons—kids were seen wading in them. Some fountains, like the Civic Plaza one, already have black basins while the remaining ones will be updated by mid-October. Positively Naperville
- ➤ A proposal by Karis Critical Data Centers to build two data centers at the former Alcatel-Lucent site on 1960 Lucent Lane raised concerns at a Sept. 3 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting as residents cited issues like noise and diesel exhaust—public comments exceeded two dozen with nearly three dozen written submissions. The public hearing will resume on Oct. 15 as commissioners gather more details before making a recommendation. Naperville News 17
