The Naperville Jaycees will team with Windy City Amusements to debut new carnival rides and games at Last Fling, which will run from Aug.

29 to Sept. 1 in downtown Naperville near Jackson Avenue and Eagle Street—introducing rides like the Sky Rider that will lift riders 80 feet and family attractions like the Giant Century Wheel and Pirate Island.

A new food co-op opened yesterday in suburban DuPage County—providing local shoppers with fresh, locally sourced products.

The co-op will serve Naperville residents and support local farmers—encouraging community-based business.

Oswald’s Pharmacy in Naperville, which opened in 1875 and remains family-owned, is celebrating 150 years with a customer weekend on Sept.

26-27 and invites locals to submit items for a time capsule until Aug. 31. The store honors its long history with custom sodas like its favorite raspberry-lime rickey— a nod to its commitment to personal service.

The Naperville Heritage Society is set to receive a $200,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Tourism Attractions Grant Program for upgrading the HVAC system at Century Memorial Chapel at Naper Settlement.

The project will begin in August — it is scheduled to finish by the end of October to support tourism and preserve this historic site.

Five Naperville high schools are ranked in the top 50 in Illinois by U.S. News and World Report—Neuqua Valley is 12th, Naperville Central 22nd, Naperville North 26th, Metea Valley 32nd and Waubonsie Valley 49th.
