  • Lizzy’s Fund, a Naperville charity, helps senior dogs who have been abandoned when owners cannot care for them, providing surgery and hospice support—while also looking for loving homes for each pet.   • Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres and Deputy Chief Chad Bisseger said National Night Out built community trust and brought neighbors + officers together at an event on August 4.   • At 9 a.m. Monday, Naperville police and the DuPage County Forest Preserve District began a search at Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve on 83rd Street for Olasinmibo 'Sinmi' Abosede—a 46-year-old woman last seen wearing a black head scarf, black Adidas jacket, gray sweatpants and black Crocs whose condition makes her vulnerable—and volunteers and K-9 teams are assisting.  ABC7 Chicago

  • Naper Settlement in Naperville is hosting a full lineup of events in August 2025 that includes a Farmers Market today from 3 to 7 p.m., a Cemetery Walking Tour on August 7, 1980s photo shoots and fashion parades on August 9, escape room challenges, community conversations on August 12 and 28, a family STEM night on August 14, community concerts on August 15 and 16, a Speakeasy Escape Room on August 17, an Origins of Naperville walking tour on August 21, and a Paint by Beer event on August 28. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. (admission fees apply with discounts for residents, children under 4, and members)  Positively Naperville
