  • Naperville will host National Night Out starting August 4 with a community kick-off at the Fry Family YMCA (2120 95th St.) featuring games, giveaways, and a free movie at sunset. On August 5, 39 neighborhoods will offer live music, food trucks, and a donation drive for Metropolitan Family Services with city staff present.  Naperville News 17

  • Two new Naperville businesses give residents indoor sports options as the weather heats up. ABC Climbing Academy opened last month at Funtopia on Aurora Ave—teaching kids rock climbing in a safe, child-friendly space—while Clubhouse540 will open on Friday, July 25th on Chicago Avenue with five golf bays offering virtual games.  Naperville News 17
  • After a decades-long absence, Jack in the Box is returning to the Chicago area with plans to open eight restaurants—one in Naperville and others in Lake in the Hills, Carol Stream, and New Lenox—with some locations already open and others scheduled to debut soon. The fast-food chain, known for its 24-hour drive-through and unique menu items like deep-fried tacos, expects to attract both nostalgic fans and new customers.  Daily Herald
  • Lou Malnati’s and Portillo’s teamed up to launch a Chicago Dog Deep Dish pizza that uses a deep dish crust with sliced hot dogs, sport peppers, pickles, onions, neon green relish and a drizzle of yellow mustard to deliver a hot dog flavor in a pizza, which many say is surprisingly delicious. The limited-time dish will be available for dine-in, carryout and delivery at select suburban locations including Naperville through August+ supplies last.  Daily Herald

  • On Sunday, July 27, from noon to 5 p.m., Noon Whistle Brewing at 1748 W. Jefferson Ave will host Hot Ghoul Summer, a free indoor market organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance—featuring 21 handpicked artists with spooky crafts and decor. Visitors will enjoy live music by Pete Jive from 1 to 4 p.m. and a food pop-up by Dark Horse Grill and Catering—this family-friendly event promises a unique, hands-on experience for all.  Daily Herald

  • Goose Island will launch its Bourbon County Brand Stout Family lineup on Black Friday, featuring six variants including the Original and Double Barrel stouts — CityGate Grille is hosting its Beyond the Barrel event on July 30 with bourbon cocktails and savory bites for $60 per guest. Dairy Queen will hold Miracle Treat Day on July 31 to support children’s hospitals and Raising Cane’s will add a free chicken finger with a Box Combo on July 27 — Fry the Coop has introduced the SMACK Wrap for $4.99.  Daily Herald
  • Three years ago, Willis Fry—who cares for his wife Bonnie suffering from Alzheimer’s—moved into Monarch Landing in Naperville after Bonnie’s condition worsened. He now visits her daily and takes part in community groups that help others adjust to new care settings.  Daily Herald
  • Chris Grano, host of Naper Bites, visited B’n Chingon, a Mexican restaurant in Naperville that began as a catering business and opened in May. The restaurant serves a steak taco with melted chihuahua cheese and J.J. Nachos—created by the owner's son—to offer locals a new twist on classic Mexican dishes.  Naperville News 17
