Suburban shops are celebrating National Ice Cream Month with new openings like Neon Cow Creamery and The Tapastry in Libertyville, downtown Naperville will see a new Lilly Pulitzer store, Barrington plans 88 custom homes at the former PepsiCo site, Little Villa Pizza is back in Des Plaines, two local firms earned Tollway contracts + Pulte Home Co. is set to buy surplus DuPage water land near Naperville.

At the board meeting on June 16, assistant superintendent Patrick Nolten told the board that Naperville 203 students improved in reading and math using the MAP Growth test by NWEA — Black students moved from the 44th to the 48th percentile in reading while Hispanic/Latinx students went from the 55th to the 64th percentile in math. Board members said they were happy with the progress — noting that local scores now exceed national averages.
