EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indian Prairie School District 204 will renovate the 30-year-old Birkett Center when freshmen move back to Neuqua Valley High School in the 2027-28 school year. The district plans to divide the building into suites for its STEPS transition program, an alternative high school program, STEM labs and a welcome center for new families — with $21.7 million in renovations funded primarily by a recent bond referendum. - ➤ Naperville Park District is considering moving the ice skating rink and sand volleyball courts from Centennial Park Detention Basin after detailing challenges at a June 26 park board meeting. Officials said the amenities will remain until new locations are ready—community feedback and recurring weather issues are guiding the proposed changes. Naperville News 17
