Naperville Responds For Veterans will host the Freedom Ruck March and Birthday Bash Block Party on July 4 at Riverwalk Grand Pavilion behind the Judd Kendall VFW — registration starts at 7AM and the 4-mile march launches at 8AM.
The event will include live music, food, and family-friendly activities.
Eight Naperville leaders will compete in the annual Dancing with the Celebrities by the Career and Networking Center.
It takes place on Sept. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Aura Club (tickets on sale July 1) with proceeds for the job seeker program.
The City partners with North Central College and Naperville Neighbors United for a community event on Wed., July 1 at Stevenson Hall, Wentz Science Center.
Participants will bring a personal item to spark discussion in small groups that meet over months — ending with a large group reconvening later.
🎓 Education
The school board at Indian Prairie School District 204 honored outgoing superintendent Adrian Talley and board member Justin Karubas at Monday’s meeting with retirement proclamations.
The board also appointed new member Andrew Bernard—who will be sworn in on July 13—and announced that incoming superintendent John Price will begin on July 1.

City crews work to clear debris and restore power from yesterday's storm that cut electricity for about 450 residents and damaged trees + caused Centennial Beach to close today.
More severe weather is expected today with high winds, damaging hail and possible tornadoes, and residents should prepare for extra hazards.
