Naperville is set for summer with free family events—starting June 7 at Frontier Park, residents can enjoy kite flying, painted dog sculptures downtown, a classic car show on June 20 and the Jaycees Last Fling in September.

Local events also feature concerts and a 5th Avenue Farmers Market.

Downtown Naperville is hosting Dog Days of Summer from the first week of June through early September.

The art display features 24 painted dog sculptures and one cat sculpture—installed near local businesses—with a map posted under events for visitors to vote for their favorite pieces.

Historic Trolley Tuesdays return every Tuesday through August with a one-hour tour at 11 a.m. from the Trolley Stop (southeast corner of Jackson Ave and Eagle St) where visitors hear Naperville history from Trolley Chick Annette Wehrli; a 20-minute ride for children starts at 10:30 a.m.

The Annual Asian Youth Art Exhibition was held Sunday at 95th Street Library, showcasing work by teen artists from local high schools as part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month; the event featured musical performances, a drawing workshop, and Mayor Scott Wehrli presenting certificates.
