  • Downtown Naperville seafood restaurant Catch 35 will close on June 28 after 21 years of service—its owners expressed gratitude to patrons while not disclosing plans for the building.  Naperville News 17

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Naperville will start two new recycling programs on June 2 that let residents drop off food scraps at designated sites and clothing at the Environmental Collection Campus at 156 Fort Hill Drive on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with both programs running until Aug 29 to boost local sustainability efforts—expanding accessible recycling options for everyone.  Positively Naperville

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Naperville Park District officials are developing a three-year financial plan that covers revenue, expenses, and $41 million in capital spending for parks through 2027, including property tax increases of $17 in 2026 and $16 in 2027. The district will present the draft plan to the park board on June 12 + it also includes an employee survey and plans to review Fort Hill membership pricing.  Naperville News 17

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Naperville planning and zoning commissioners approved the entitlements for a development near Ogden Avenue that will build 34 townhouses and 56 row houses for active adults, millennials, Gen Z and other residents—Lincoln Property Co. requested zoning changes that include a deviation for a 38-foot maximum height and annexation of more than eight vacant acres, while some neighbors expressed concerns over traffic and housing mix.  Daily Herald

  • Downers Grove North senior midfielder Ashley Poquette led her team to an 11 to 7 win over Naperville North in the sectional semifinal. The Trojans, holding a 20-2 record, will face top seeded Benet for the sectional title at 7 p.m. Friday.  Daily Herald
