CRIME NEWS

  • Naperville Police arrested three individuals after noticing suspicious behavior during a routine downtown patrol near Lululemon—recovering clothes with security sensors still attached and drugs, with two facing felony charges.  Naperville News 17
  • Naperville police arrested Marcus Carroll, a Cook County convicted felon, during a May 24 traffic stop and seized four loaded firearms—a Glock 43 with a fifty‐round drum magazine, a Glock 23 modified to fire fully automatic, a Springfield Hellcat, and a Glock 19—charging him with unlawful weapon possession and scheduling his next court appearance for June 23.  Naperville News 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A team from Naperville Central High School won a state financial literacy challenge and will travel to Atlanta for the National Personal Finance Challenge on June 1-2. Coach C. David Ashton said the win tested their skills in managing money — including earning, spending, and saving — while preparing them for future challenges.  Daily Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • DuPage County Board approved a resolution Tuesday to create a county land bank that will turn empty land into affordable housing—county officials said the move will use a clean and lien program for control, and the board will ask nonprofit groups for help developing the sites—$5 million from surplus funds is set aside for the effort.  Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Emma Dvorak was promoted to Assistant Administrator at The Springs at Monarch Landing in May and will now oversee the Life Enrichment program — along with ancillary services; she began her journey as a server in 2011 and earned her Nursing Home Administrator License in December 2024.  Daily Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Neuqua Valley advanced to the sectional championship after defeating top-ranked Naperville Central 1-0 in Tuesday’s Class 3A semifinal — repeating their regular season feat of being the only team to beat Central. The Wildcats will next face No. 8 Naperville North Friday night as they pursue further success.  Daily Herald
