Families will enjoy the 19th annual Kite Fly at Frontier Sports Complex on Sunday, June 7 from noon to 4 PM; hosted by Naperville Park District and presented by The Branch, the free event will feature giant kites, live music, and interactive games by KidsMatter + fun for all.
Downtown Naperville is set for summer with the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. winding through Jackson, Washington, and Benton Avenue, the Riverwalk Duck Race on Friday, June 5 along the DuPage River, and Park After Dark from July 17 to 19 at Central Park.
IPSD 204 approved a union contract for support staff that sets wages from $19.25 to $22.25 and includes 2.5% yearly raises for over 600 employees through the next four years.
The agreement shows the district’s commitment to supporting essential staff.
At a May 18 board meeting, Naperville 203 officials reported that their workforce innovation program grew this school year as diploma endorsements almost doubled from 103 to 200.
Officials said the program will expand next school year by adding a student panel and new local industry partnerships+ drawing on cross-sector support.
Health officials in DuPage County reported on May 12 that mosquitoes in Roselle, Glendale Heights, and Wheaton tested positive for West Nile virus — no human cases have been reported as of May 18, and residents are advised to reduce standing water, use repellent, and report stagnant water.
