Local Naperville writer Heather Lewandowski used her late mother's artwork, along with her own and her daughter Ava's, to complete her new children’s book 'The Best Summer Day' that shows their special Fourth of July traditions.
She finished the book in five months and held a signing at Crossroads Community church ahead of Mother’s Day — keeping her mother’s memory alive for readers.

Donors at the sixth annual A Pint for Kim blood drive at Naperville North High School helped save lives during a Saturday mini-fest with kids' activities, food trucks and live music.
Inspired by the late Kimberley Benedyk Sandford—whose battle with cancer led to many needed transfusions—organizers expect to collect more than 620 pints this year.
