CRIME NEWS

  • Naperville man Saifullah Diab, 35, was charged with aggravated battery + home invasion after he allegedly shot a 53-year-old man on Chicago’s North Side on March 8 at a Roscoe Village residence, injuring the victim's left shoulder; he was arrested on Friday and was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.  FOX 32

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local officials in several communities are planning new grocery taxes to replace revenue lost after the state ended its 1% tax, and voters in Bensenville rejected a proposed measure on April 1. At least 163 towns have already approved their own tax—changing how some services will be funded as food prices rise.  Naperville Sun
  • Naperville bid farewell to outgoing council members Jennifer Bruzan Taylor and Paul Leong, who left after serving since 2021. The city welcomes new council members today as officials look forward to serving the community.  Naperville News 17
