- ➤ The Naperville Noon Lions are supporting a Styrofoam recycling event for the city & NEST that will be held on May 10 from 9AM to noon at the Route 59 Metra station, with parking available via 475 Fairway Drive. - ➤ On April 21, District 203 board members received an update from CFO Mike Frances that showed 85.3% of revenue comes from property taxes while state and federal funds decline – corporate personal property replacement taxes dropped to 1.5%. - ➤ DuPage Public Safety Communications has activated its new Fulton automated tornado siren system today to alert communities with fast, reliable warnings directly from the National Weather Service. The upgrade reduces manual steps and improves response times when tornado warnings are issued—boosting local safety. Daily Herald
- ➤ State lawmakers reached a bipartisan compromise on a transit funding bill that will give a central authority more power over CTA—Pace—Metra to avoid a $770M fiscal gap and improve system coordination, including linking schedules so a Naperville train is met by a Pace bus at peak times. Transit leaders from the agencies said they oppose a full merger, while the agreement requires cost cuts, a unified fare card and better oversight to move forward. FOX 32

- ➤ Over the Edge, a Canadian urban rappelling company, launched its Altitude Zone at the Westin Hotel in Itasca with thrill-seekers including Naperville mom Sarah Colgan trying the $159 experience on a 180 foot drop — designed for first-time rappellers.
