- ➤ On Sunday afternoon, firefighters rescued a family of geese—adult birds and goslings stuck on a Lisle roof after a man flying a drone spotted them. Crews used a fire truck ladder to safely lower the birds so they could return to a nearby pond and reunite with their chicks. FOX 32
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Developers plan to open a new dining and entertainment district called Block 59 along Route 59 and Aurora Avenue, with restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory and First Watch set to open in June and more sites arriving by summer and year-end while Ruth’s Chris will open in 2026. The project — a $53 million revitalization effort supported by a special city tax — also features an outdoor plaza that will host events and become an ice rink in winter. Daily Herald
