On March 29, nearly 200 Veterans and Gold Star Families gathered at Veteran Parks in Naperville to observe National Vietnam Veterans Day — the ceremony featured remembrances led by local Vietnam Veterans, wreath presentations by veteran groups, and musical tributes by the Chorus of DuPage. From November 7 to 12, Naperville will host the Healing Field of Honor along the Riverwalk to support Operation Support Our Troops.

Naperville Park District will celebrate Earth Month with activities starting April 7 at Knoch Knolls Nature Center—where families can learn about being greener—with a paper shredding event on April 12 at Centennial Beach co-sponsored with the Naperville Police Department.

Residents will also be invited to volunteer during National Volunteer Week, register for Ron Ory Community Garden plots, and enjoy a stroll along the Riverwalk to see blooming spring foliage.
