- ➤ Naperville Sunrise Rotary will host Trivia for a Cause on Monday, April 28 at Elements Events at Hotel Indigo in downtown Naperville to raise funds for high school scholarships for students at Cherish Watoto in Nairobi — attendees can compete in three rounds of trivia in teams of six to eight while enjoying bar bites, beer, wine and a cash bar along with a silent auction and 50/50 raffles. - ➤ St. Baldrick’s returned to Naperville North High School on March 21, where volunteers and students raised over $24,000 — beating the $20,000 goal to support childhood cancer research. Paul Felstrup marked his 24th shave as he joined community members in the annual event. Positively Naperville
- ➤ A Des Plaines man with terminal cancer brought his two bonded pitbull mixes, Gucci and Mimi, to Naperville Area Humane Society on Feb. 16th so they could remain together. The shelter now seeks a family for the dogs—Gucci has a waived adoption fee while Mimi requires a $350 fee—and says the dogs are good with children and other pets. Naperville Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission approved a proposal to require banks and financial companies to get a zoning variance for first-floor spaces downtown—this rule aims to keep the ground level for retail. City Council will review the changes next, and existing banks may have to follow the new rules if the proposal is adopted. Naperville Sun

- ➤ Naperville Central High School basketball star Trinity Jones partnered with Half Baked Goodness to launch the Trinfetti Cookie—a sugar cookie with white chocolate and green and white sprinkles topped with a chocolate basketball that debuted Friday.
