COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Naperville community leaders helped bring Rosie’s Home Cookin’ to a new location at 2155 CityGate Lane. The veteran-owned diner (founded by Vietnam War veteran Lynn Lowder) celebrated its reopening on Wednesday after local officials secured the space at CityGate Centre.  Naperville News 17

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Naperville native Amanda Klousnitzer-Hutchens launched The Fox and the Fable, a mobile bookstore converted from a trailer (renovated over six months with family help and a $15,000 investment) that debuted on Thursday (a book swap event was held outside Solemn Oath Brewery).  Naperville News 17
  • Southwest Airlines will end service at O’Hare International Airport this summer, with its final flight on June 4 before shifting its Chicago flights to Midway where up to 244 daily departures continue to serve the same 15 markets (employees may bid for open positions) so travelers have options.  FOX 32

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Naperville Police, partnering with state agencies, launch a traffic safety campaign for St. Patrick's Day. Running March 13–6AM March 23, the campaign targets impaired driving and seat belt violations to help locals plan a sober ride home.  Positively Naperville
  • A section of North Aurora Road between Pennsbury Lane and Frontenac Road will close for four months starting Tuesday, March 31 for utility work that prepares for replacing a 110-year-old railroad bridge; motorists will follow a detour via Diehl Road.  Naperville News 17
