- ➤ Illinois' new Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act requires hospitals to treat survivors within 90 minutes or transfer them to a facility with a trained nurse examiner—an effort aimed at reducing ER delays amidst a nationwide shortage of specialized nurses.
