  • Naperville artist Joanne Koenig-Macko has received international recognition for her spiritual angel art and uses a unique style (painting with her fingers and rose stems) that inspires hope after a serious car accident; she plans to open her own gallery soon.  Naperville News 17
  • Former Naperville coach Orville Sweeney published his debut children’s book 'The Boy Who Saved Recess' last month (the story draws on his family's immigration from Jamaica and his struggle to fit in) and he plans to expand it into a series.  Naperville News 17

  • Aurora native Orin Albrecht reached his 500th blood donation milestone at Vitalant in Naperville on Saturday, just days before Christmas + staff hosted a small celebration to honor nearly three decades of his service and he looks forward to donating more in the future.  Naperville News 17
