- ➤ Erica Markewych and her neighbors erected handmade light arches along the sidewalks outside of 40 Buttonwood homes to brighten holiday evening walks, and they plan to expand the display next year (using PVC pipes and Christmas lights to create the festive effect). Naperville News 17
- ➤ Loaves & Fishes Community Services received a $5 million grant from Endeavor Health to expand its Aurora facility (adding 32,000 sqft and improved cold storage to better serve residents) and officials celebrated the award on Wednesday. Naperville News 17

- ➤ Outdoor retailer L.L.Bean announced plans to open a Naperville store in fall 2026 as one of eight new locations during its expansion; the company has not yet filed permits or revealed a specific site. Naperville News 17

- ➤ Indian Prairie School District 204’s Board has recommended Dr. John Price as its new superintendent, with a board vote set for Dec. 15 and his start slated for July 1. Residents may meet him at a reception on Jan. 15 at the Crouse Education Center + 780 Shoreline Drive. Positively Naperville

- ➤ Local stargazers can watch the Geminids meteor shower tonight & into early tomorrow with up to 120 meteors per hour. NASA recommends finding dark areas away from city lights to see the meteors near Jupiter. FOX 32
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Naperville Park District will put a $120M bond referendum on the March 17 ballot to build an activity center with an indoor pool and trails at Frontier Sports Complex. The district scaled its request from $135M after a community survey and now urges residents to vote to shape future recreation. Naperville News 17
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli’s mental health team reviewed ideas from the upcoming documentary 'Coming Alive: Reimagining Mental Health' during a Tuesday screening at Go Brewing.
