CULTURE NEWS

  • North Central College will host the Self-Employment in the Arts Conference in person on November 15–16 at the Larrance Academic Center where over 30 creative professionals will lead sessions and workshops to help artists build business skills. Registration closes on November 14 at 5 p.m. for students, educators and emerging creatives.  Positively Naperville

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ten students including first-generation learners and single mothers have been awarded $54K by DuPage County from its Community Services Block Grant Scholarship Program, with awards ranging from $2,000 to $8,500 to cover tuition and supplies for fall classes. Recipients said the funding will boost their academic success+build community ties and ease financial burdens+while setting a strong foundation for their futures.  Naperville News 17

  • The northern lights lit the Naperville sky last night and might show again tonight. NOAA says strong solar storms could raise conditions to G3 or G4 — so citizens are advised to view the sky from 6 p.m. in dark areas.  Naperville News 17
