CULTURE NEWS

  • Naperville artist Marilyn Dale’s exhibition, Between the Lines, shows mixed media paintings that use WWII letters to tell a story of love and survival at North Central College’s Schoenherr Art Gallery. The show runs until Dec. 5 and includes a Meet the Artist preview today from noon to 2 p.m.—an event to hear the artist explain her creative process.  Positively Naperville

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Illinois lawmakers passed a bill that could let terminally ill patients—those with a six-month prognosis—to request lethal medication if they are mentally competent; the measure now awaits Gov. Pritzker’s signature. State Sen. Laura Ellman from Naperville supports the bill, and critics worry that existing biases among doctors may push vulnerable patients toward the option.  Naperville News 17

SPORTS NEWS

  • Naperville North unveiled a state-of-the-art turf field in collaboration with the Naperville Park District to create a multipurpose facility behind Harshbarger-Welzel Stadium that supports varsity and freshman sports as well as community events. The new field spans the equivalent of two football fields and offers a safe space for P.E. classes, tournaments, and other activities.  Naperville News 17
