Reigning Miss Illinois Missi Craddock will serve as Grand Marshal for the Naperville Holiday Parade of Lights on Nov.

Local forest preserves and an environmental education group are hosting pumpkin smash events on November 8 to help Naperville residents safely dispose of old jack-o’-lanterns.

The smashed pumpkins will be turned into compost — a method that enriches the soil and protects native plants while preventing harmful dumping practices.
