  • Registration is open for the 28th annual Naperville Noon Lions Turkey Trot 5K, scheduled on Thanksgiving Day at 8 a.m. at Naperville Central High School. Participants will earn a new long-sleeved T-shirt, free breakfast from Belgio’s Catering, and running awards—supporting essential vision, hearing and diabetes services for local children and families.  Positively Naperville

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Metra has proposed a fare increase of at least 10% to make up for lost COVID relief funds, so fares will rise in 2026. The one-way ticket from Zone 1 to 2 will go up from $3.75 to $4.25 (pending public hearing approval in November).  FOX 32
  • Howard Henry Goodrich was born in Naperville in 1852 and became a teacher, lawyer, and government leader who served as city attorney and DuPage County States Attorney—he helped convert the local village government into a city form. He also worked with local banks and libraries before he died on Jan. 7, 1906 and is remembered for his lasting contributions.  Positively Naperville
