- ➤ The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is accepting grant applications for programs that support local youth, teens and families. Complete applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Oct. 24 and selected projects will be announced mid-November—grant funds will be given from January to May with Rotary Ride funds by Sept. 30. - ➤ On September 18, the Fry Family Y hosted an Evening of Celebration at Naper Settlement to honor over a century of the YMCA's role in community wellness in Naperville. More than 100 guests viewed a new exhibit and shared stories that highlighted the Y's ongoing support for youth development and family care. Positively Naperville

- ➤ Naper Settlement in Naperville will host a series of October events including regular museum hours (Tuesday to Saturday 10AM to 4PM, Sunday 1 to 4). The schedule features Oktoberfest (Oct. 3-4) with German cuisine and live music, Family STEM Night (Oct. 9), a middle school teacher workshop (Oct. 11), a Halloween festival (Oct. 17-18), Craft by Beer (Oct. 23), Howlin’ at the Moon (Oct. 24-25), and Trick or Treat (Oct. 26) for families at 523 S. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Naperville officials discussed a $190 million capital improvement plan for 2026 at a Sept. 29 city council budget workshop, focusing on projects such as underground electric utility conversion and ending the sidewalk cost-share program—measures aimed at reducing administrative burdens. The council selected the lower-cost conversion option and will meet again on Oct. 28 and Nov. 10 to review further spending proposals. Naperville News 17
- ➤ Four volunteers including Nancy Quigley, Louis and Helen Halkias, and Susan Baltaragis lead tours at the Naperville Police Department to show visitors areas like the roll call room and the communications center—offering a clear view of police operations.
