  • Naperville is hosting its annual Sept. 11 remembrance event on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at the memorial behind the Municipal Center—where survivor Laura Murphy will share her story and local leaders will offer brief remarks while the Municipal Band plays at 5:45 p.m.  Daily Herald
  • The Morton Arboretum will host Tails on the Trails on Sunday with walks for dogs plus a pet expo featuring over 40 vendors, treats, training tips, and adoption opportunities.  FOX 32

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Naperville District 203 teachers will get a 19.67% salary increase over four years following a 6-0 school board vote on Wednesday—this new contract also raises hourly rates for summer teaching and curriculum work by $3 to $11.  Daily Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Naperville North managed a comeback to win 21—14 in overtime against Libertyville on Friday. The Huskies made key plays late in the game, including JD Sanford’s critical sack and William Eloc's touchdown run, and they will host Metea Valley next week.  Daily Herald
  • Hinsdale Central quarterback Riley Contreras led his team with three rushing touchdowns and 235 passing yards as they beat Naperville Central 28-14 Friday night — lifting the team to a 2-0 record ahead of their game against Downers Grove North.  Daily Herald
