EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Naperville District 203 board and teachers union signed a new contract that gives teachers annual raises, higher pay for extra duties, and extra sick leave while keeping the school day the same. The deal, reached after months of negotiations and retroactive to July 1, aims to support a stable learning environment—ensuring educators remain among the top paid in the state.  Naperville News 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Naperville city manager Doug Krieger shared details on the city's counterproposal to the IMEA and announced that the clean energy RFP for options like nuclear, wind, and solar will be proposed to the council on Sept. 16. IMEA is reviewing the proposal, and the earliest decision on contract changes will come in October.  Naperville News 17
  • Today, Naperville City Council selected Supna Jain to fill the seat left by Allison Longenbaugh, who stepped down on August 18 due to a job opportunity — staff will add a resolution to the September 16 agenda that, if passed, will seat Jain for the remainder of the term ending in April 2027.  Naperville News 17
  • Naperville City Council will vote this month to appoint Supna Jain for a school board seat left open when Allison Longenbaugh resigned for a private job. Jain, the school board vice president & a college teacher at North Central College, will be sworn in immediately if the vote passes and serve the remaining 18 months of the term.  Daily Herald

  • Neuqua Valley girls swimming won a 107-79 victory over rival Waubonsie Valley in an early-season DVC matchup — they posted strong relay and individual performances to clinch the win.  Naperville News 17
