ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 39-year-old Naperville man died after his black 2016 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob left north Naper Boulevard near Plank Road and struck a fence Wednesday night—police said the rider was unresponsive at the scene.  Daily Herald

CRIME NEWS

  • Naperville police reported that a body found Thursday at Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve matches missing mother Olasinmibo 'Sinmi' Abosede, 46—an autopsy is scheduled for today and foul play is not suspected.  ABC7 Chicago
  • Naperville police reported that a body was found off a Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve trail west of Book Road after a passerby discovered it (50 to 60 yards from the trail) and alerted officials who arrived around 2 p.m.  Naperville News 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Naperville School District 203’s board voted on Aug. 4 to use surplus funds to begin planning a new transportation facility on district land at Fifth Avenue, moving bus operations from a temporary leased office after an outdated trailer was vacated in May. The project could go to bid this fall and see construction begin this winter—although board member Melissa Kelley Black raised concerns about the high costs without exploring lower-cost alternatives.  Naperville News 17

  • SunCloud Health is offering free mental health resources to schools, parents and communities as back-to-school season begins. The program provides parent toolkits, student education and staff in-services—helping families access crisis intervention, referrals and treatment options available at Naperville, Northbrook and Chicago.  Daily Herald
