- ➤ The Naperville Senior Task Force is asking for nominations for the Senior of the Year award for male and female residents 60 and older who have made a positive impact through volunteer work, mentorship, or advocacy – nominations can be emailed or submitted online by August 31. The winners will be recognized by Mayor Scott Wehrli at the City Council meeting – details are available on the task force website. Positively Naperville
- ➤ Naperville Park District said that Centennial Beach will have a late-season schedule because many staff return to school — it will close at 6PM on Labor Day, Sept. 1. The Paddleboat Quarry will run on weekends only from Aug. 16 and both splash pads at Wolf’s Crossing and 95th Street Community Plaza will stay open from 9AM to 8PM until Labor Day — Carillon Tours will then operate on weekends as weather and staffing allow. - ➤ The Naperville Art League will hold an online silent auction from Oct. 6 to 10 to raise funds for its nonprofit using art donated by members, and it will conclude with a cocktail and appetizer gala—One Artistic Evening—on Oct. 10 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the newly remodeled Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 at 908 W.
