In August, the Naperville Park District offers five events for residents to enjoy summer’s end and plan for fall.
The programs include discounted Brooks Advantage Cards at two golf courses, STEAM classes, free disc golf at Knoch Knolls, a September hayride with complimentary hot chocolate and apple cider, and fall program registration starting August 4—giving the community diverse seasonal options.
Operation Support Our Troops — America, in partnership with the Naperville Park District and Naperville Responds for Veterans, will host the Healing Field of Honor from November 7 to 12 on Rotary Hill on the Naperville Riverwalk to honor Vietnam War veterans.
The event marks the 50th anniversary of welcoming home U.S. troops from South Vietnam and will benefit veteran programs through flag purchases.

Stan's Donuts and Coffee will open its new location in Naperville's Block 59 on Aug.
9 at 6 a.m., where the first 100 guests will receive a limited-edition T-shirt and a chance to win free doughnuts for life. Founder Rich Labriola will be on-site at 408 S. Route 59—offering prizes such as a Golden Donut, a certificate for a KitchenAid Mixer, and a framed print of Julia Hagens' art.

Naperville City Council held an energy workshop on July 28 as experts and residents discussed a potential 20-year contract extension with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency, focusing on pricing and energy sources.
The workshop lasted over five hours — the council will vote on the proposal at its meeting on Aug 19.
