- ➤ Naperville Park District is inviting residents to share their ideas on improvements at Nike Sports Complex by completing an online questionnaire by Friday, Aug. 8 before the board passes a resolution in August to allow staff to submit an OSLAD grant application by Tuesday, Sept. 30. Officials explained at the July 24 meeting that planned upgrades include playground renovations, new ball fields, synthetic turf infields in partnership with Naperville Little League Baseball and additional enhancements—potentially reaching over $4 million in costs. - ➤ Naperville officials released the 2025 Government Guide of Individuals Elected to Serve to explain how residents can register at City Hall and prepare for upcoming elections. - ➤ Naperville officials approved a plan for The Residences at Naper and Plank, a 90-unit rental housing project set on an 8.21-acre parcel just outside the city during a July 15 council meeting that voted 8—1 in favor. The project offers 34 townhomes and 56 rowhomes ranging from 1,550 to 1,950 square feet with rents between $3,900 and $5,000 and raised local concerns over potential traffic impacts—though a traffic study indicated minimal changes.
