ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On June 19th at 9:35 p.m., Naperville Police responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard when a blue 2024 Suzuki traveling at high speed struck a grey 2024 VinFast turning left, and despite emergency efforts, the motorcycle operator, Dante Fields, 26, died at the scene while traffic investigators continue to examine the crash.  Positively Naperville

  • Naperville entrepreneur John Calamos began his career in his family’s grocery store and later flew combat missions in Vietnam before starting Calamos Investments, which now manages nearly $40 billion. His new biography, The Sky's The Limit, shows how early lessons in hard work and teamwork helped him overcome challenges like the 2008 recession to achieve success.  Naperville News 17

  • At the Naperville Public Library Board meeting on Wednesday, the board honored trustee Barbara O’Meara for six years of service—she received a certificate and a book added in her name before her departure. New trustees, including Dr. Reginald Gardner, Viral Shah, Erica Katz, John Baker, Amy Schade, and Krishna Ravuri, were sworn in to lead the library board.  Naperville News 17

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • In May, the suburban housing market grew warmer as more pending contracts and rising prices pushed detached homes to a median of $420,000 and attached homes to $275,000—Naperville pending contracts increased by 11.4% even as home sales fell due to limited listings.  Daily Herald
  • The Planning + Zoning Commission approved a 68-unit townhome proposal called Everly Trace on June 18 that will annex 10 acres from unincorporated Will County. The plan advances to city council + where neighbors’ concerns about traffic, density, and safety will be considered.  Naperville News 17
