- ➤ Good Shepherd Church invites children ages 4 to fifth grade to a summer Bible school called True North: Trusting Jesus in a Wild World from July 14th to 18th at 1310 Shepherd Drive — sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon or 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the program features Bible-centered games, hands-on experiments and a mission project to raise funds for Cherish Watoto Kenya. - ➤ Scams targeting seniors are on the rise as scammers use phishing and spear phishing techniques to send fraudulent emails, phone calls, or texts that warn of account problems and demand money transfers, and Crime Prevention Specialist Julie Smith with Naperville Police advises anyone receiving such messages to hang up and independently verify the claim (examples include messages from Microsoft, Amazon, Social Security, PayPal, and Illinois Tollway). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Neuqua Valley High School will host freshmen again in the 2027-28 school year after $96 million in renovations add new classrooms, updated labs, and a more secure entrance near Route 59. Construction will begin in spring 2026 and finish after summer 2028—funded by a recent bond referendum and borrowing authorized last fall. Naperville News 17
- ➤ The Indian Prairie District 204 school board hired search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates to recruit candidates as it looks for a new superintendent to start on July 1 next year. The board will ask for community feedback in August and finish selecting a candidate by mid-December while current superintendent Adrian Talley concludes his term. Daily Herald
