  • Memorial Day weekend in Naperville offers a full slate of events starting with Kreger’s Brats on Friday (10AM-3PM) at 606 N. Ellsworth, Centennial Beach opening Saturday (11AM) at 500 W. Jackson Ave, and the Memorial Day Parade on Monday (10:30AM) downtown.  Positively Naperville
  • The Naperville Fire Department held its annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Thursday morning at Firemen’s Memorial Park, honoring fallen firefighters and EMS Chief Doug Erwin with tributes from Fire Chief Puknaitis and Mayor Wehrli — as community members laid a wreath at the Ladder of Light statue in a 15-year tradition.  Naperville News 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Naperville School District 203 is set to consider a policy that will restrict app-based rideshares during school hours. The board will review the proposal, which allows one-time waivers for special cases, at its meeting on Monday, June 1.  Naperville News 17

HEALTH NEWS

  • City crews inspect mosquito traps, remove standing water & treat ponds, marshes, and catch basins to limit breeding while residents are advised to wear protective clothing and apply repellent; trap testing and safe, low-volume spraying will continue through summer to guard against West Nile Virus.  Positively Naperville
