- ➤ A new biographical sketch honors Civil War veteran Jacob F. Lehman, who enlisted in the 12th Illinois Cavalry on January 2 and later worked as a tinsmith and factory finisher after moving to Naperville. Born on October 5 in Wheeling, he served under General Custer before being honorably discharged on December 31 and died on December 7—his service is marked by a commemorative grave and memorial services in town.
