- ➤ Max’s Mission, a local nonprofit supporting suicide loss survivors, is proposing to install four new murals adjacent to the Rothermel Family Skate Facility at Centennial Park with designs by local artist Peter Thaddeus that include mental health symbols + diverse figures. A park board resolution to approve the project and request a $6,200 contribution toward the $41,600 cost will be considered Thursday, and construction could begin this summer with work expected to finish by year’s end. - ➤ The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is hosting a drive-by drop-off for diaper and mom’s essentials from 8 to 10 a.m. on Friday, May 9 at Naperville Country Club to support West Suburban Community Pantry, which serves over 1,000 families in DuPage County + donors may drop items curbside or at the Pantry during its hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Positively Naperville

- ➤ Naper Settlement opened a new exhibit called 'Selling Kroehler' that shows how innovative marketing helped Kroehler Manufacturing Co. grow into a major furniture business. The exhibit in the Pre-Emption House displays advertising materials—classroom kits and interactive elements that highlight the company’s 130-year history—and will remain on view through December. - ➤ Naperville School District 203 held a board meeting on May 5 where two new and two returning members took their oaths and planned a new four-year term — the board honored longtime members Kristin Fitzgerald and Donna Wandke for their 12 years of service. In the meeting, members chose Charles Cush as president and Kristine Gericke as vice president by a 6 to 0 vote — both will lead the district as it moves forward. Naperville News 17

- ➤ National Police Week runs from May 11 to 17 with Naperville set to honor law enforcement on May 15 by holding a tribute at 10 a.m. at the Public Safety Center’s Peace Officer Memorial and a CAPS banquet at 6 p.m.—moreover, NPD staff will host 'Cop on a Rooftop' on May 16 from 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at a Dunkin’ on W. - ➤ Bill Novack is retiring after nearly 34 years as Naperville’s Director of Transportation, Engineering and Development. Andy Hynes will assume his engineering tasks on the Naperville Riverwalk Commission while Jennifer Louden will lead the department. Positively Naperville
