- ➤ The Naperville Park District reminds residents to follow posted trail rules and walk their wheels along the Riverwalk—bikes and similar vehicles are not allowed—and use over 70 miles of trails in local parks. - ➤ A Woodridge man received a 10-year sentence in DuPage County court for killing 64-year-old Naperville bicyclist Michael Norton in a DUI crash on August 6 when he struck the cyclist and fled the scene—authorities said his blood alcohol level was 0.222. Naperville News 17
- ➤ On Monday, April 28th, a ransomware attack at about 2:30 a.m. targeted DuPage County agencies including the Sheriff’s Office, the 18th Judicial Circuit Court, and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office—canceling chancery sales while in-person court operations continued as scheduled as the FBI and Secret Service began investigating. - ➤ Naperville’s Cress Creek Garden Club will award $24,500 in scholarships to high school seniors and college students studying forestry, botany, environmental science, ecology, landscape design, horticulture, or related areas at a luncheon on Friday, June 13—while the club will also host a meeting on attracting birds with David Brooks on May 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton.
