  • The May issue of Positively Naperville is available today with coverage of Memorial Day observances and local events. The April issue centerfold featuring candidate information for the upcoming Midterm Election will not be available after today.  Positively Naperville
  • The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago will honor Naperville native Rima Ziuraitis as the 2026 Global Citizenship Hero at its 24th Annual Heroes Breakfast on Wednesday, May 6 at the Hilton Chicago from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., recognizing her years of humanitarian service including work in Ukraine.  Positively Naperville

  • May in Naperville brings community celebrations with outdoor dining at Vai's Italian and Empire Burger, a Shop the Block event at Block 59 on May 2, a Build a Bouquet downtown event on May 9, a Gentleman's Ride on Water Street on May 17, and an annual duck race on June 5.  Positively Naperville
  • Hayden Panettiere, star of 'Nashville' and 'Heroes', is set to sign her memoir at Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. (Preregestration is required, and each attendee can have one book signed with a photo line managed by staff.)  Naperville News 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Big Blue Swim School in Naperville offers adaptive swim lessons for kids with autism this April as part of Autism Acceptance Month. The program uses sensory tools and personalized scheduling (tailored to each child's pace) to help improve water safety, with a blue handprint promotion benefiting Turning Pointe Autism Foundation.  Naperville News 17
  • On Tuesday, April 21, Dashka Slater discussed her nonfiction book Accountable at the Naperville Public Library during a fireside chat hosted by Naperville Neighbors United (she later visited local schools to spark conversations on racism and bullying).  Naperville News 17

  • Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres will host Chat with the Chief on May 6 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Stan's Donuts on S. Route 59 + residents can join for free coffee and an informal chance to share their concerns.  Positively Naperville
  • Naperville residents can use the annual Bulk Brush Collection starting the week of May 4 to dispose of large, unbundled tree and shrub branches for free. Residents should place branches (measuring 3 to 8 ft long) on the parkway the Sunday before collection, except for Thursday pickups, and check progress on the interactive online map.  Positively Naperville
