ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters responded to a house fire on Locust Ct near Birchwood Drive in Naperville on April 28th—Chopper 7 captured the scene at about 11:10 a.m. showing damage to the garage—with no further details available from officials. ABC7 Chicago
- ➤ Naperville firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Locust Court at 10:36 a.m. on April 28—neighbors helped evacuate the home and crews rescued a dog as no injuries were reported, damage was estimated at $100,000, and the building was declared uninhabitable. - ➤ A body found in the water at Burlington Park Forest Preserve near 1002 Douglas Ave on Saturday before 3 p.m. was identified as a 44-year-old Naperville man—officials say there is no foul play and the preserve remains open for public use. Naperville News 17
- ➤ On April 28, a Woodridge man pleaded guilty but mentally ill to aggravated DUI resulting in the death of Naperville bicyclist Michael Norton on August 6 — he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and will serve 85 percent of his term before he can be considered for parole. FOX 32

- ➤ The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and the city will co-host the 35th State of the City address on May 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Embassy Suites Chicago-Naperville, where Mayor Scott Wehrli will highlight 2024 achievements and outline future plans for development and economic growth — inviting local business professionals, civic leaders, and community members to join in shaping the city’s future. - ➤ The city began replacing an aging water main on Ogden Avenue and Washington Street last week and traffic disruptions are expected until October.
