  • A DuPage County resident known as Lucky won $1M from an Illinois Lottery ticket he bought at a Lombard Mobil gas station on W. Roosevelt Road yesterday and said he will invest in his family's future + donate to a local hospital. The station will receive a $10,000 bonus.  FOX 32

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Beidelman Furniture, a downtown institution since 1861, will close on April 29 because rising costs make it hard to continue. The landmark building will keep its historic features as new ownership takes over.  Naperville News 17
  • Oberweis will open its first Scoop Shop on April 28 inside Giordano’s at (119 South Main Street) in downtown Naperville. The shop will offer premium ice cream and high school-inspired desserts for families to enjoy.  Naperville News 17

CULTURE NEWS

  • Kimberly Stull, a longtime leader at DuPage Children’s Museum, will begin her role as president and CEO on June 9 as part of a planned leadership succession. Outgoing CEO Andrea Ingram will step down on June 8 after six years of service.  Naperville News 17
  • North Central College hosts two concerts at Wentz Concert Hall: Chicago Sinfonietta will perform American Rhapsody on May 8 at 7 PM to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary + New Colony Six will play Alive and Well on May 30 at 7:30 PM to support the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation.  Positively Naperville

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Naperville Central High School's team won first place at the Illinois Personal Finance Challenge on April 14 (held at Michael Frerichs' office) and earned a $1,500 Bright Start scholarship each to advance to the national finals in Atlanta on May 31.  Naperville News 17

  • The Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners approved the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan on April 23 and adopted a new mission, vision, and core values after gathering community input.
