Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said gun-related arrests have grown in the past five years—citing a recent April 18 arrest at Topgolf where patrols found a handgun in plain view and a second weapon without proper documentation—while officers continue checking parking lots to keep the city safe.

A Will County judge granted a two-year no-contact order against Neuqua Valley High teacher William Schaub, 56, accused of grooming and sexually abusing a 16-year-old student—he was arrested on April 3 and will appear in court on May 21.

The Edward Foundation awarded $20,000 in scholarships to 10 local high school student volunteers who provided services at Edward Hospital by greeting visitors, delivering flowers, and transporting patients.
