  • The AAUW Naperville Area named Liz Spencer — former NCTV17 executive director — as its 2026 Woman of the Year for her leadership in mentoring Naperville’s storytellers. The award will be presented at the 70th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Luncheon on May 2 at Bolingbrook Country Club.  Naperville News 17

CULTURE NEWS

  • Naper Nights returns to Naperville’s Naper Settlement with six tribute concerts featuring Taylor Swift, Van Halen, and more. The events run from June 19 to August 15 and include food, games (painting for kids) and other activities to support the Naperville Heritage Society’s mission to preserve local history.  Positively Naperville

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Naperville will host a public input session from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wed., April 29 at Meeting Room C in the Municipal Center to gather resident feedback on the third phase of the downtown streetscape project, which plans to rebuild city streets before spring construction in 2027.  Positively Naperville
  • Naperville City Council voted Tuesday, April 21 to allocate $24,738 in SECA funds for city services used during this year’s India Day Parade, with the funding limited to the parade portion of the event. The measure passed by a narrow 5-4 vote.  Naperville News 17

SPORTS NEWS

  • Naperville North girls water polo extended its win streak to 17 by defeating Neuqua Valley Wildcats 13-4 in conference play on Apr. 22. The Huskies will return home to host York while the Wildcats prepare to defend their pool.  Naperville News 17
