COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Naperville residents will have many events from March 28 to 30 including early voting at the Municipal Center and a Friday Night Fish Fry at Judd Kendall VFW where fish and fries cost $15 with an extra $5 option for pizza or shrimp. Other events feature North Central College’s Spring Musical Assassins at the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, a resale shop benefit for Little Friends on Saturday, and Sunday dining at Mesón Sabika along with a free guide for a self-walk of public art.  Positively Naperville
  • Today, three Naperville churches are hosting a one-mile Love Your Neighbor walk that begins at Grace United Methodist Church at 6 p.m.—encouraging residents to pray, support neighbors, and donate whole-grain cereals for Loaves & Fishes Community Services before gathering at Our Saviour’s and St. Timothy Lutheran campuses for a candle lighting and a light potluck supper.  Daily Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • Artists can apply to join the second annual Water Street Fine Art – Fine Craft Fair set for July 13 downtown; applications will be accepted until May 16. A jury will select 30 to 35 artists to show work in various mediums while guests enjoy live music, children's activities and a best of show award that includes a $250 cash prize.  Naperville News 17
  • A Lenten Taizé prayer service is scheduled for Monday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Lighthouse room at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Brookdale Road in Naperville—this service features meditative refrains and Scripture readings to offer a peaceful time of prayer before Easter and other special events.  Daily Herald
  • Eighteen painted duck sculptures will be on display downtown Naperville from early June until September (sponsored by local businesses) and a map posted online will show their locations while plans to revive the Rubber Duck Race may also be announced.  Naperville News 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Naperville School District 203 officials continued discussions on a proposed school day schedule change as current school hours remain for the 2025-26 year and potential adjustments target the 2026-27 year. Superintendent Dan Bridges said feedback from staff and parents is being gathered and challenges—such as collective bargaining issues and increased transportation needs—are delaying a final decision.  Naperville News 17
  • Two new administrators will join IPSD 204 this summer as Anne Dragosh becomes the STEPS principal for special needs students and Sarah Mumm takes over as districtwide director of research and assessment—filling vacancies left by retiring educators and set to begin on July 1.  Naperville News 17

SPORTS NEWS

  • Metea Valley senior forward Chloe Birch came back after two knee injuries and helped her team win by scoring game-winning goals in two recent victories and giving an assist in the win over Wheaton North. Coach Chris Whaley said she can play on the wing or center forward if needed.  Naperville Sun
